Ideological and political education consists of  five research directions:

1. Network ideological and political education

   The students in this research direction will research the internet’s influence on ideological and social culture; explore the innovation and development of ideological and political education under the network environment; seek the rules and characteristics of network ideological and political education, improve and perfect the ways and methods of ideological and political education to promote the healthy development of network culture.

2. Advanced culture and the socialist culture construction

The students in this research direction will research the influence of Chinese and foreign main cultural ideological trends on the socialist ideological and cultural construction; probe into some practical considerations in the socialist ideological and cultural construction; also research how to critically reference on the existing theory achievements to improve contemporary ideological and political education.

3. Ethics and psychology of the youth

   The students in this research direction will research the mental characteristics and Law of growth of the youth applying Marxist theory of world outlook and methodology; probe into all kinds of the youth’s ethical concepts, especially the young college students’; find out the corresponding ideological and political education ways and methods.

4. Theory and method of ideological and political education

The students in this research direction will research the basic theory and method of ideological and political education, formation and development of Human morality; take the theoretical and applied research on the major issues to innovate the theory and method of ideological and political education.

5. Comparative study on ideological and political education

The students in this research direction will take a comparative study on theories and practice of ideological and political education under different culture background applying Marxist theory of world outlook and methodology; critically reference on the beneficial results of a variety of theories in different countries to enrich our ideological and political education theories, also and to improve the effectiveness.
