Material Science consists of four research directions:
1. Advanced functional material: aiming at studying the structure, properties and preparation methods of high temperature structural material, the structure and properties of light alloy and its control technology.
2. Functional material: aiming at studying the method and technology of preparation of piezoelectric ceramic powders by using solid phase method, melting salt method and sol-gel method, the relationship between microstructure and macro-properties of porous ceramic materials and its preparation method and the preparation and application technology of amorphous metal material.
3. Inorganic nonmetal material: aiming at studying the strengthening and toughening of ceramics material, the high strength, high temperature resistance and catalytic the decontaminating filter material, the comprehensive exploitation and development for industrial waste, key technology of clear melting for Magnesite mineral and equipment development.
4. Material surface strengthening and functionalization: aiming at studying the newly surface strengthening process and technology of functional material, biocompatibility of biomedical materials, surface modification and characterization of surface structure and properties.
